A conversation with my elderly parents over the weekend.

Me: "What did you do Saturday night?"

Dad: "We went to a concert, and heard a fat lady doing oreos."

Me: "You did what?"

Dad: "You know, we went to the opera, and the fat lady sang lots of oreos."

Me: (clearly not understanding) "What does that mean?"

Dad: "Opera, oreos. You know, oreos."

Mom: "And it was fantastic!"

Me: "Ooohhhhh, you mean arias."
